These Terms of Service govern your use of Easy Backup & Restore, a Shopify application that helps merchants create, store, download, import, and restore backups of selected Shopify store data.

Use of the App

You may use Easy Backup & Restore only for lawful business purposes and in connection with Shopify stores that you own, operate, or are authorized to manage. You are responsible for choosing which backup modules to enable and for ensuring that your use of exported or restored data complies with applicable laws and your own customer-facing policies.

Backup and Restore Functionality

The app provides backup and restore tools for supported Shopify resources. Restore operations can update or create Shopify resources, depending on the backup type and Shopify API permissions available to the app. Some Shopify resources cannot be restored as exact historical copies because Shopify does not expose full write access to every original field, transaction, timestamp, or internal identifier.

Merchant Responsibilities

• Review backup settings and plan limits before enabling scheduled or manual backups.
• Keep temporary backup links private and share them only with trusted recipients.
• Confirm restore actions carefully before applying backup data to a live Shopify store.
• Maintain any customer notices, consent records, and privacy disclosures required for your business.

Plans, Billing, and Trial

Paid plans, trial periods, and subscription charges are managed through Shopify Billing. Plan features may include different storage limits, backup types, import/export options, and support levels. If a subscription is cancelled, suspended, or not approved, access to paid features may be limited.

Data Storage and Retention

Backup files are encrypted at rest and retained according to the app retention rules and merchant actions. The current default retention keeps the latest 5 successful backups per shop and backup type unless backups are deleted earlier by the merchant or removed under applicable deletion processes.

Privacy Requests and Audit Logs

The app processes Shopify privacy webhooks for customer data requests, customer redaction requests, and shop redaction requests. The app also keeps audit logs for sensitive backup data access and protected customer data workflows.

Availability and Limitations

We aim to keep the app reliable, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted availability, error-free backup completion, or full restoration of every Shopify field. Shopify API limits, unavailable scopes, protected data approvals, theme file exemptions, source data changes, or store configuration differences may affect backup and restore results.

Acceptable Use

You must not use the app to access data without authorization, attempt to bypass Shopify or app security controls, distribute temporary links publicly, or use backup data for advertising, profiling, resale, or other purposes unrelated to your store operations.

Privacy

Our data practices are described in the Privacy Policy. By using the app, you acknowledge that backups may contain personal data when customer or order backup modules are enabled.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms of Service to reflect product, legal, or operational changes. The updated version will be posted on this page with a revised date.
